PROFIL

James Kennedy gained his Ph.D. (Fecundity of Irish Sea plaice and maternal effects on the eggs and larvae) at Port Erin Marine Laboratory (University of Liverpool) together with Cefas, Lowestoft. During his Ph.D. he also carried out some experimental work at the University of Bergen during a 10 month Marie Curie fellowship.
 
His main focus is on fecundity and fecundity regulation in marine fish. His current work is focusing on the reproductive biology of Greenland halibut (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides) in both the eastern and western Atlantic. Other work includes research into the stock structure and biology of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) around Greenland.
