Gjennom mer enn 30 år med forskning har Møreforsking opparbeidet solid kompetanse på å forskningsoppdrag. Instituttet har 55 ansatte, som utfører forskning, utvikling, rådgivning og kunnskapsutvikling.

Agnes Christine Gundersen

Agnes C. Gundersen er direktør i Møreforsking AS og daglig leder i Møreforsking Ålesund AS. Agnes har vært ansatt i Møreforsking siden 1993. Hun har studert ved Universitetet i Tromsø og Universitetet i Bergen og forsvarte i 2004 Dr.scient-graden sin innenfor reproduksjon og rekruttering hos Norsk Arktisk blåkveite ved Universitetet i Bergen. Få år senere ble hun evaluert til Forsker 1 (tilsvarende professornivå) av ekstern komité. Hennes faglige interessefelt og ansvarsområder er forskning knyttet til fiskeri, fiskeribiologi, ressursforvaltning samt bærekraftig høsting og anvendelse av marine ressurser. Agnes er prosjektleder for et av instituttets største prosjekt finansiert av Utenriksdepartementet og som omhandler klimavariasjon i havområdene rundt Grønland (CLIMA). Agnes har vært medlem av ekspertgrupper i ICES (The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) siden 1994. Hun er fagansvarlig for den marine klyngen BLUE LEGASEA og har et stort engasjement for å bidra til å utvikle og sette marin forskning og næring i regionen på kartet.
